This Month I Got Updated Studio Shots
Thanks to Dayglow Photo! She did a wonderful job capturing me in my work space, just in time for my Studio Sale tomorrow (poster below- please come through!).
Studio Sale with Two Local Girls
I’ll be selling original landscape + still life pieces, mugs, puzzles, tote bags, large prints… my space feels cluttered and I am in the mood to clean out! If you aren’t in Savannah, and would like to see what I have, be sure to follow along on Instagram where I’ll be posting items to sell from afar! You’re also welcome to email me at alligracehall@gmail.com
My buddy Juliana (JULU) will also have works for sale!! Come on by tomorrow at Dreamhouse Studios if you’re local. It’ll be a silly time.
Now for a trip down Small Creative memory lane..
2017
Let’s throw it back to my oldest studio space- my home during my first year out of college! The “Dutch” house was my beloved post-grad home of 7 years. In those 7 years I had a total of 15 roommates come through- and only one of them was a random person who was in my phone as “Carly Subletter”. We also had SO many themed parties.
My dear friend Amy Anstatt photographed the space. She also was one of these 15 roommates! My studio at the time was in the dining room of our apartment. My roommates also set up their workspaces here, and it really was a sweet, chaotic time of young artists starting their professions. So much life happened in this room, and I’m so grateful Amy captured it all. A studio outside of my home seemed like such a pipe dream at the time, since I was working part time as a nanny and working on any commission I could grab.
2021
In 2019, I grew out of my home studio and also went full-time freelance in one swoop. I hopped on to the inaugural opening of Abode Studios and had my own little studio space amongst other artists in East Savannah. It was marvelous to work alongside the sweet painters, jewelry makers, and fiber artists at Abode- and having all my art supplies out of the house was a first-ever for me.
In 2021, my roommate Anna Heritage took these photos of my space at Abode. I still had my little wooden illustrator desk from college. I also loved my white platform crocs. Also my sister Margaret made my dress!
2022
Wo! A lot happened in a year. In September 2021 my college friends and I opened up Dreamhouse Studios in Savannah’s Starland District- just south of historic Downtown Savannah! Pictured above is the space I have currently- half a room with large ceilings, a door, and NATURAL LIGHTING!! I love my space, and I’m so thankful my studio-mate Lauren Wright captured these photos.
I was prepping pieces for my first solo show “Catchall”, which was in March 2022. Also between this and the last photo series, I apparently went blonde!
2024
Now for the update! Dayna from Dayglow Photo really did amazing work on my studio pics this month. My space is full of kind chaos, and I’m so happy with it. My shelves are full of still life inspiration, I have flat file drawers to store art (big grey box to the left), and Hank’s pothos plant is so happy in that corner! I usually have 7 things happening at once in this space, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Also, this LARGE landscape is for sale. Anyone want to buy it??
I truly am so grateful for a space to work with dear friends, teach workshops, and be inspired every day. I love that I have photos from my studio spaces from the past few years. Will be fun to show the kids one day!
Thanks for following along, friends! Hope to see you at the studio sale tomorrow. For those outside of town, feel free to email me to see available work. Also- hot gossip- my Etsy is 20% off until the end of the month!
Much love to my subscribers,
Allison “Covergirl” Hall
