Greetings from my source of Wifi!
Sassy Hurricane Helene has been the theme the past few days… I’ve been without power (wifi! AC!) in my home since Thursday night. Thankfully, my studio has both of these things and I’m actually sitting outside as I type this because I was cold in my studio. I’m so acclimated and strong from my hurricane camping!
All jokes aside, I’ve thankfully have been pretty productive today, despite the chaos of the past weekend. Oh! And I’m thankfully safe. It’s been wild seeing how this “tropical storm” has wreaked havoc on some beloved Southeast towns. If you’re a Savannah local and need a place to work with wifi and AC, let me know! We’re happy to help. We need each other right now!
That being said, I’m getting on my A-game for the holidays this year, and I’d like to share a brief list of commissions I’m offering this season. I’m only taking a limited amount, so get your orders in sooner rather than later if you’re interested in giving a custom painting this season! All orders will be ready by the first week of December.
For the Food-Lover
This one is a first! I’m very excited to be offering Still Life Commissions this season. Recently I’ve had folks ask me to paint scenes of their favorite foods, or a specific dinner that was a special memory- and I’ve had so much fun doing so! It’s a great, personal gift for a significant other or the foodie in your life. Details to order are included in the link below.
For the Bride
I love painting any flower, and this type of commission is a no-brainer for me! Orders aren’t limited to brides- who doesn’t have a favorite flower? With this bouquet commission, I offer painted ornaments too. I feel like ornaments are a nice gift for someone who seems to have everything, or hates having a lot of material goods. Ornaments are easy to store and allow that serotonin memory boost once a year. Good for you, for being so thoughtful!
For the Nostalgic House Resident
Another gift that offers a serotonin boost is a house portrait! Whether you rent or buy, a portrait of a home allows for a flood of memories. These gifts make great family heirlooms as well. With the choice of having the home painted in watercolor or gouache, you have your pick of the style of painting!
That’s all for now! I’m proud of myself for checking this off my autumn to-do list. Thanks for indulging me. If you don’t have a need for a custom painting this year, can you share this article with a friend? Word-of-mouth is my favorite tool, and your support and chatter really does go a long way for a small business. I appreciate you and I’m proud of you!
Grateful and cooled down,
Allison “Can’t Sleep in the Heat” Hall
